Satoshi Haga + Jen Shyu: Public Program
Satoshi Haga and Jen Shyu will present a special open studio, giving the public a peek into their multi-layered process of improvisation, composition, and deep history as music and movement collaborators since 2007. The fruits of their intensive residency at JCAL thanks to Exploring the Metropolis will be in full bloom, as they premiered Song of Silver Geese on March 28, 2016, and Roulette, which they are continuing to develop this year with Jen’s band Jade Tongue and Mivos Quartet, performing again on June 8th at Vision Festival 21 at Judson Church as well as at her residency on August 14, 2016 at John Zorn’s experimental music space, The Stone, on Avenue C and 2nd Street, NY, NY.
