We are sad to announce the passing of Horace Havemeyer III, publisher of Metropolis Magazine, founding Board member of Exploring the Metropolis and husband of EtM Founder Eugenie C. Cowan. An active Board member since 1982, Horace was a generous supporter of the Composers’ Residency program and remained keenly involved in the organization’s vision and direction, even after he was rendered quadriplegic in mid-2011.

We’re grateful for Horace’s support, faithfulness and generosity.  He will be missed. We also extend our condolences to our great friend Eugenie.
