We were saddened to hear of the death of Lawrence Davis, the Executive Director of Bloomingdale School of Music.  For the past two years, Bloomingdale has been one of our host organizations for the EtM Con Edison Composers Residency.  Lawrence, who led BSM for over two decades, was a champion of the program and new composers. Last year, he commissioned two Composers-in-Residence, Jeff Myers and Elizabeth Lim, to write new pieces for the Bloomingdale students, which later premiered at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie.

Lawrence lived a life dedicated to music.  He will be missed.
