Weill Recital Premieres by Lim and Myers

David Johnston

Bloomingdale School for Music presented its “A4TY: Album for the Young Student New Music Project” last night.  In a sold-out house at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, BSM students premiered new works from the innovative Bloomingdale program, in which hundreds of students have been encouraged to write their first pieces of music.

Here at EtM, we’re pleased that Bloomingdale also commissioned two of our composers for this program.  Elizabeth Lim‘s “Arabian Nights: Parizades Journey” was premiered by a quartet of flute, violin, cello and piano.  Jeff Myers contributed the delightful “Four Little Sketches” for a student string quintet.  Congratulations to Elizabeth, Jeff, Lawrence Davis and Margalit Cantor for a terrific evening.
