Mobile Guitars on a Snowy Night

David Johnston

Guitar anti-hero.

Patrick Grant brought his guitar, keyboards, electronics and a whole lot of friends to Turtle Bay Music School on Friday night.  For his culminating event from the Con Edison Composers Residency, Patrick was joined by guitarists Cristian Amigo, Angela Babin, Dan Cooper, Randolph A. Hudson III, Daniel Reyes Llinas and Cesare Papetti on percussion.  (Previously announced Gene Pritsker wasn’t able to make it, due to illness.) Patrick performed some new material, some old and selections from “Tilted Axes,” his “guitar parade” opus which premiered last month at Make Music New York, the Winter Edition.  EtM Board Member Earl Carlyss hosted a reception afterwards with free wine and pub cheese.

All of our Con Edison public programs are free.  Be sure to check our Events Calendar for some of the best music from the most exciting new composers you haven’t heard of yet.   Next up, Jeff Fairbanks at Flushing Town Hall on February 17.
