Danielle & Sxip’s Hour of Charm
After Hurricane Sandy put a major dent in their upcoming chamber orchestra concert at (le) poisson rouge, former Composer-in-Residence Danielle Eva Schwob and Sxip Shirey decided to make the best of it and dedicate their November 30th LPR concert to storm relief efforts. Danielle and Sxip quickly shifted focus and invited a fabulous lineup of fellow musicians and composers to join them for a benefit concert. Among the talented eclectic mix – a throat singer, beatboxer extraordinaire, classical harpist, and accordion virtuoso. And so “Danielle & Sxip’s Hour of Charm: Hurricane Relief” has been expanded to include the likes of Todd Reynolds, ETHEL, Adam Matta, Ned Rothenberg, Bridget Kibbey, SYZYGY, Liron Peled, Corn Mo, Bill Schimmel, and more. All proceeds will be donated to local relief efforts. We thank each artist for sharing valuable time and tremendous talents to benefit storm victims.
Doors open at 7pm, concert begins at 8pm. Get your tickets here. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind concert. As The New York Times puts it, Danielle and Sxip have “assembled a starry alt classical cast!”
P.S. Congrats to Danielle for being named a winner of the 2012 American Composers Forum Jerome Fund for New Music.
