We received some exciting news from 2011 Composer-in-Residence Demetrius Spaneas. Demetrius and librettist Alexandra Honigsberg have been commissioned by Opera Manhattan Repertory Theatre to compose “The Passion of Madame Faust – A New American Opera.” The premiere of the full production is scheduled for October 2014. And thanks to a grant from our friends at Flushing Town Hall, a vignette of the work-in-progress will be performed there on October 28th. Since Demetrius was our Con Edison Composer-in-Residence at Flushing Town Hall, we’re thrilled to see this relationship continue!

Partial performances will continue every six months until the 2014 premiere.
