The deadline has passed, applications have come in, and panelists are chosen! The coming weeks will be a busy time of sorting and prepping for the panel review process, so that we can announce eight new 2012-2013 Con Edison Composers-in-Residence come July.

So as we hurtle towards the end of one Con Edison Residency cycle to the beginning of another, we would like to take a moment to thank and recognize each of our eight 2011-12 Composers-in-Residence and our four host organizations. Since the start of our Con Edison Residency program in 2009, we’ve been amazed by the tremendous talents represented in the program. This year was no exception. Our best wishes go out to Demetrius, Paul, Danielle, Nicholas, Ron, Kamala, Raphael and Joshua! We’ll keep folks informed about their whereabouts, gigs and premieres. And hats off to our host organizations – Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy, Church Street School for Music and Art, Flushing Town Hall and Turtle Bay Music School – this program could not exist without your partnership!

We are grateful to corporate funder Consolidated Edison, and to lead foundation funders the George L. Shields Foundation, and the Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation. We are also grateful to Credit Suisse, the Reed Foundation, AOH Foundation, and individuals.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

This program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
