A Day at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College

Grace of Exploring the Metropolis talking to young artists at the Aaron Copland School of Music

Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of participating in the Aaron Copland School of Music’s Career & Internship Fair. If you’ve never been to the campus of Queens College, it is quite beautiful. So being lost trying to find their new music building was actually very enjoyable. The Fair took place in the building’s Atrium, a beautiful two-story gathering space. While we didn’t have a chance to peek in the Lefrak Concert Hall, we were told it is one of the finest performances spaces around, as well as a superb recording studio.

Our thanks to Jane Cho, the School’s Director of Admissions and gracious hostess, for creating this opportunity, and for providing ample snacks and sundries so that all of us – students, faculty, alumni and presenters – could share information and chat away for three hours straight. Among many represented at the Fair were our friends from Chamber Music America, New York Foundation for the Arts, the Weill Music Institute and Search and Restore.

We hope to receive many Con Edison Residency applicants from the folks at the Aaron Copland School of Music. We had a great time, and look forward to next year’s Fair!
