We have known Gina Gibney for years, and she’s been a trusted resource for information and advice.  Some months ago, we took a tour of her proposed expansion for Gina Gibney Dance, and we spoke about hours, rent structures, building issues and all the other thousand details that go into a capital expansion of an existing facility.

Recently, Jennifer Edwards wrote a great piece on Gina and her plans for the Huffington Post.  (With a name check for our recent study for The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, “We Make Do.”) Gina, a respected artist/choreographer as well as a savvy administrator, has been developing a new business model at 890 Broadway for dance facilities who serve the commercial and nonprofit sectors. We’re optimistic about its outcomes, and wish her all the best in these ventures.
