Octavio Vazquez, one of our 2010 Con Edison Composers in Residence, is great at keeping us abreast of his activities. Here’s his latest:

“On March 12th, the Spanish National Radio (RNE-Radio Clásica) will air an extensive interview with yours truly, including movements from the Piano Concerto in the world-premiere live recording with Cristina Pato (piano), JM Pérez Sierra (conductor) and the OSGA (Galicia Symphony Orchestra), and from the Piano Trio, ‘Guernica’, in the excellent recording by the Flatiron Trio.

“On March 18th, the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, led by their music director Víctor Pablo Pérez, will premiere “Ewiges blaues Licht”, an overture commemorating Mahler’s 100th anniversary, commissioned by the orchestra for this occasion.”
