Join us in welcoming the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, a beautiful new rehearsal, recording and special events facility located on the West Side of Manhattan.  The new home for the renowned Orchestra of St. Luke’s, this center provides much-needed, state-of-the-art space for large vocal and instrumental groups in the performing arts community.

We are beaming here at Exploring the Metropolis; our 2004 Orchestra Rehearsal Center Study provided the genesis for the DiMenna Center, pointing out the severe need  for adequate and affordable rehearsal space for NYC’s orchestral and ensemble groups.  Kate Levin, the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, spoke more on this to WQXR.  The New York Times covered the opening here.

You can see some nice photos of the entire new facility at the OSL site.  And the sound is a dream come true.

We congratulate OSL for making this wonderful new addition to serving the arts community and beyond!
