Octavio Vazquez, 2010 Con Edison Composer in Residence

Pianist/composer Octavio Vazquez presented an eclectic program of his own works last night at Turtle Bay Music School, the culmination of Vazquez’s Con Edison Musicians Residency.  The program included selections from Vazquez’s “Nineteen Preludes” and Violin and Piano Sonata No. 2, along with works by Bellini, Handel (“Partenope”) and Manuel de Falla.

Vazquez was joined by vocalists Patrice Perry and violinist Patmore Lewis, along with fellow pianist Julian Gargiulo. Vazquez and Gargiulo concluded the program with the US premiere of Vazquez’s two-hander “Valse Noble and Sentimentale.”

Many thanks to Con Edison and other funders for making this evening possible.

And – we will have good news to announce in a few days about upcoming programs! Stay tuned.
