New York Sketches is a 60-minute guided tour of New York City through the eyes and ears of choreographer, HILARY BROWN and composer, LAMY ISTREFI JR.. Joined by their collaborators, dance artist, MAGDA KACZMARSKA and vocalist, RIE YAMAGUCHI-BORDEN, they take the audience across a map of the 5 boroughs: Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island, to evoke the time, space and sound of a city like no other. A homage to the eclecticism of these communities, the performance navigates the intersection of movements and instruments onstage to share stories of the past, personal and spiritual.
