Wednesday, April 5, 2017 6:00 pm
As part of EtM Choreographer + Composer Residency The Commons Choir will give a Public Program at Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning with an open rehearsal of their current Brooklyn ReZound. Led by choreographer Daria Faïn and poet-architect Robert Kocik, The Commons Choir collectively sets humanity’s troubles and highest aspirations to song, movement, and spoken word. Brooklyn ReZound, is an investigative jazz musical composed by Darius Jones that examines the experience of displacement and change in polyglot Brooklyn as it represents the nation in its enduring aspirations toward equity. The Commons Choir will rehearse few excerpts of the libretto.
